Abstract:

Some primary achievements about technology of strengthening RC structures with prestressed aramid fiber reinforced polymer (AFRP) sheets and carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) bars are introduced, including the research on permanent anchors for prestressed AFRP sheets, on stress relaxation of the prestressed AFRP sheets, on flexural and shear behavior of RC beams strengthened with prestressed AFRP sheets, on the effect of temperatures on the mechanical properties of adhesives for AFRP sheet, on mechanics behavior of concrete beams locally strengthened with external CFRP bars, on seismic performance of macro-fiber concrete beams strengthened with prestressed CFRP bars, and on engineering application of strengthening RC structure with prestressed FRP sheets.
