Abstract:
In order to combine kinds of transportation, some super multi-mode were built. However, because of lacking of a comprehensive understand about the traffic characteristics of transfer pedestrian and dynamic evaluation procedure, inconvenience, and congestion are common problems in multi-mode terminals. Thus, investigations were conducted in multi-mode terminals in Beijing. And pedestrian traffic characteristics, such as the walking speed on different facilities, the service ability of different facilities and the walking behavior, were analyzed. With results mentioned above, a simulation model of a building multi-mode terminal was built and calibrated with Legion. At last, simulation results were used to illustrate how to conduct a dynamic evaluation of facility design of multi-mode terminal. © 2011 ASCE.
